Massage

Swedish/Relaxation

Types of Theraputic Massage

Swedish/Relaxation
The most popular style of massage relieves tension, improves circulation, and soothes aching muscles, while creating complete relaxation. This full body massage uses techniques to calm the nervous system and restores balance to the mind and body, leaving you feeling rejuvenated.

Treatment/Deep Tissue

Treatment/Deep Tissue
Deep Tissue Massage is a slower technique than Swedish that goes deeper into muscle and connective tissue to release chronic tension. The use of slow strokes and deep compression combined with traditional massage help release this chronic tension. A deep tissue massage helps loosen muscle tissue, release toxins from the muscle, increases circulation, and decreases long term muscle fatigue. Treatment techniques include myofasical release, trigger point work, passive stretching and specific muscle releases.

Pregnancy/Pre-natal

Pregnancy/Pre-natal
Pregnancy massage is theraputic bodywork which focuses on the special needs of the mother-to-be as her body goes through the dramatic changes of the childbirth experience. This relaxing massage helps with swelling, pain in the lower back and neck, and improves circulation. A combination of Swedish and Deep Tissue can be used to relieving tension and reducing the stress on Mom's changing body. Pregnancy massage also prepares the muscles used during childbirth.

Hot Stone

Hot Stone
Hot stones, usually made of basalt to retain heat, are immersed in water and heated until they reach a specific temperature. They may be placed in specific points on the body or manipulated over the body to ease tension, increase circulation, and promote healing. The heat warms and relaxes the muscles, which allows for deeper pressure and greater release of tension.
